Over the years, I’ve had a number of blogs. They’ve mostly gone unread.
This year, I tried to keep a blog about the Somerset Patriots. It actually seemed to have a small following. There was only one problem – I don’t have a wireless data plan. Updates from the ballpark were out. By the time I was getting home from the games, it was around midnight.
Since I had to be up at seven the next day to get ready for work, writing about the Patriots was seriously cutting into my sleep time. Not a big problem on game one of a six game homestand, but by game three or four? Yeah.
I finally admitted defeat last month and shuttered the site. At the same time, I closed a few other fairly neglected sites that really never showed signs of being read. I figured, why bother if no one’s reading anyway?
Over the past few weeks, I came up with an answer to a question that I thought was rhetorical.
Because I want to.
I missed writing about things that interested me: the Patriots game I just went to; the anime show I just saw; the book I just finished; the autograph I just got. If any of those things interest you, you’re welcome to read them (and comment on them, if you want.)
If not, no big deal.
