Fred Lewis made his Major League debut for the San Francisco Giants on Sept. 1, 2006. During his September callup, Lewis mainly served as a pinch hitter or defensive replacement. Last year, he got more playing time. Lewis batted .287 in 157 at-bats, hitting 3 home runs and driving in 19.

This spring, he’s battling Rajai Davis and Nate Schierholtz to be one of San Francisco’s two backup outfielders.
