Alay Soler spent one season in the Major Leagues, posting a 2-3 record with a 6.00 ERA in 8 starts for the 2006 New York Mets.
Soler struggled, for the most part, but he managed to toss a complete-game two-hit shutout against the Arizona Diamondbacks in Phoenix. He never managed to duplicate that success with the Mets, and he was released early in spring training the following year.
Soler spent the 2007 season in Altoona, pitching for the AA Altoona Curve. This year, he’s pitching for the Long Island Ducks in the Atlantic League. So far, Soler is 1-2 with a 5.33 ERA in five starts.
