Fernando Martinez is the top prospect in the New York Mets’ farm system. The team’s front office seems to think he’ll be ready to contribute before the end of the 2009 season.

I tend to worry that he’ll be the 2009 version of Lastings Milledge.

Martinez’s autograph is pretty terrible, but I suspect that it will continue to get worse as he gets closer to the majors. 

The 2006 Just Rookies card has little to recommend it either, but at least it features a smiling photo.
