Photo Friday: Joe Pepitone’s Ceremonial Pitch

Joe-Pepitone

Welcome to Photo Friday. I took a lot of photos this season… more than I ever managed to post here or to my sadly-neglected Flickr account. So throughout the off-season, I’m going to take a look in my photos folder and find an interesting one to post each Friday.

Since today is the Yankees’ celebration day, I thought it would be fitting to start off with a former Yankee. Joe Pepitone threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Newark Bears’ June 7, 2009 game. I’m not old enough to remember seeing him play, but everybody says he was quite a character.

I normally hate the fact that my Kodak point & shoot really can’t blur backgrounds, but sometimes it’s kinda fun. Check out the different reactions on the people watching the ceremony.
